Irma Ellen “Jean” Mitchell, age 92 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018. Funeral Service will be Thursday, January 4th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Rev. John Penfield officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Rafe Corder, D. Michael Smotherman, Lyle Lassiter, Drew Corder, Brandon Smotherman, and Luke Corder serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Mitchell was born September 6, 1925 in Flat River, Missouri to the late Charles Harry Hollinger and Grace Elizabeth Miller Hollinger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Carl H. Mitchell. She is survived by daughter, Donna Denson (Mike) of Gallatin; brothers, Harold W. Hollinger of Santa Barbara, CA and William D. Hollinger of Covina, CA; sisters, Laverne Petrie of Farmington, MO, Joyce Warfield of Georgetown, TX, and Arletta Porter of Lexington, KY; 3 grandchildren, Dawnell Corder (Rafe), Trina Smotherman (D. Michael), and Tawnya Lassiter (Lyle); and 6 great grandchildren, Courtney Kroeger (Brandon), Drew Corder, Brandon Smotherman, Luke Corder, Elle Lassiter, and Emri Lassiter.
