Obituary of William Glenn Johnson

Glenn Johnson, Jr. passed away on August 18, 2008 at age 59. After attending college, he served in the US Army Reserve initially as a paratrooper and then as a parachute rigger for a period of seven years. As a civilian, his many achievements were in the lighting field where he was a Corporate partner with Factory Sales Agency, Inc. and planned, along with his partners, the lighting for Ryman Auditorium, Shelby Street Bridge, Demonbreun Street Bridge, Monroe/Carell Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, Country Music Hall of Fame, the Convention Center, LP Field Arena and many other venues. His humanitarian works were being a major fundraiser with Special Olympics, the first Sara Lee Golf Classic, the Nashville Golf Classic serving on the Board of Directors and Cumberland Heights where he was named Volunteer of the Year. Survivors include mother Billie Baggett Roney of Hermitage; sister: Kendy (Dwight) Staggs of Hermitage; brothers: Kevin (Sheron) Johnson of Hendersonville and Bruce (Michele) Johnson of Augusta GA; step-mother: Lucy Johnson of Augusta GA; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by father Glenn Johnson Sr., grandparents Willie and Lillie Johnson of Lebanon, and Jesse and Clara Baggett of Old Hickory. The Memorial Service, officiated by Dr. John Ishee, is 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, Fairview Church (1660 Leeville Pike, Lebanon TN). Visitation at the church is from noon until service on Saturday.
