Obituary of Melba Bland Carr

Melba Bland Carr, age 53, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville after a long battle with cancer. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Saturday from 2-6 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until the service. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother George Wallace, is 2 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home and will be followed by interment in Wilson County Memorial. Mrs. Carr is survived by husband, John R. Carr, daughter, Lauren Harris (Matt), son, Brian Carr, and 3 grandsons, Andrew and Braden Carr and Eli Harris. She is also survived by mother, Mary K. Bland, sister, Glenda Sellars, brothers, Robert Bland (Betty) and Gene Bland (Jeanne). She was preceded in death by father, Glen Bland, and sister, Letha Kay Bland. Mrs. Carr has been an educator in both the Wilson County and Lebanon Special Schools districts. She had a true love for dogs and athletics, especially UT Vols.
