Obituary of Shelby Rene Glisson

Shelby Glisson, age 21, of Lebanon, passed away on February 4, 2016 following complications from a lung transplant. The family will be receiving friends at the First United Methodist Church (415 West Main), Lebanon TN from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 p.m. until the service on Sunday. The Funeral Service, conducted by Dr. David Comperry, Dr. Don Thrasher, Reverend David Hesson, Reverend Mike Potts, and Coach Greg Armstrong is 2 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church. Shelby’s Pallbearers will be Sigma Kappa sorority sisters from the Theta Phi chapter at UTC. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, Hermitage TN. Memorial Donations: New Leash on Life (507 Jim Draper Blvd, Lebanon TN 37087) and/or the Shelby Glisson Memorial Scholarship at Cumberland University (1 Cumberland Square, Lebanon TN 37087). Shelby was an Honor Student at Friendship Christian in Lebanon, and attended University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority and the Student Nurses Association. She loved animals, crafts, shopping, talking with her friends, and volunteering at New Leash on Life. She is survived by her parents Dickey and Michele Glisson, grandparents Harry and Judy K. Hiza of Old Hickory TN, Gloria Martinelli and Hazel Glisson , both of St. Louis MO, and aunts and uncles David and Diane Hiza, John Hiza, and Dean Hiza, and cousins from TN, MO, NY, NJ, TX, and KY. She is preceded in death by grandparents Mike Martinelli Sr., Doris Jean Cox, and Johnny C. Glisson, and uncle Mike Martinelli Jr.
