Obituary of Jackie Diel

Jackie Diel, age 75 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday April 27, 2016. Funeral Service will be Tuesday May 3rd at Hendersonville First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m, with Dr. Larry Gilmore officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with family serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Heart Sisters Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Monday May 2nd at Hendersonville First Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday May 3rd from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church. Jackie was born October 16, 1940 in Dix, IL, to the late Harley Russell Duncan and Helen Aline Wimbery Duncan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willard Wayne Diel; and sister, Dolores Chichester. She is survived by son, Justin Diel (Lyn) of Hendersonville; daughters, Teresa Brown (Mark) of Gallatin, and Lisa Neal (Terry) of Sulphur, OK; grandchildren, Chelsea Neal, Caleb Wayne Neal (Brooklyn), Carleigh Neal, Mikaela Wilson (Nolan), Dakota Diel, and Savannah Diel; sisters, Linda Sue Fitzgerald of Orlando, FL, and Mary Lee Threatt of San Diego, CA; sister-in –law, Sharon Diel Kossmeyer of Gallatin; brother-in-law, Delmar Diel of Pacific, MO and several special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Diel graduated from Vol. State with as Associates Degree; Belmont with a Bachelor’s Degree; and the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga with her Master’s Degree. She worked as a Christian Counselor for 26 years at Good Shepherd Christian Counseling. She is a member of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville. She taught Heart Sisters Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center in Gallatin, at 2229 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN. 37066. Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderfh.info.
