Obituary of Robert Decker Eley

Robert “Bob” Decker Eley, age 72 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday July 31, 2016. Funeral Service will be Thursday August 4th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Adam Correll officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Jim Daniels, John Daniels, Dee Johnson, Jim Eley, Stephen Eley, and Jeff Eley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday August 3rd from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Mr. Eley was born July 10, 1944 in Paterson, NJ, to the late Robert Carl Eley and Elizabeth Decker Eley. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Marcella Daniels Eley of Gallatin; sons, Stephen Frederick Eley of Atlanta, GA and Jeffrey Decker Eley (Evelena) of Baltimore, MD; brother, Jim Eley (Sharon) of PA; and 4 grandchildren, “Alex” Alexander Eley, Harper Eley, Peyton Eley, and Reese Eley. Bob retired from The National Security Agency (NSA) in 2003 after 41 years of service to our country. The family would like to give thanks to Adoration Hospice and Danny Greer for their care and services over this past year.
