Obituary of Thelma Neal Smith

Thelma Neal Smith, age 73 of Portland, passed away Saturday August 6, 2016. Funeral Service will be Wednesday August 10th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery, with Gene Smith, Larry Neal, Wyatt Neal, Matthew Neal, Keith Casselberry, and Bill Martin serving as pallbearers; and niece, Trish Casselberry and nephew, Charlie Hunt serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday August 9th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday August 10th from 12:00 noon until time of service. Mrs. Smith was born April 16, 1943 in Nashville to the late Alden Gray McDonald and Marion Porter Kiningham McDonald. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Robert Neal; and brother, Mac McDonald. She is survived by husband of 31 years, Gene Smith of Portland; son, Larry Neal (Lynn) of Gallatin; sister, Robin Hunt of Old Hickory; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Neal and Wyatt Neal; and 1 great grandchild, Haley Neal.
