Obituary of Kenneth William Yates

Ken Yates, age 52, of Lebanon TN went home to be with Jesus on August 19, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon TN. Visitation with the family will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Michael Yates, David Yates, David Fossler, Michael Fossler, Jared Fossler, and Brandon Shepard. Honorary Pallbearers: Tim Samples, Steven Oakley, and members of Hutto/Maynard/Warren Sunday School class. Beloved husband, father, brother, son-in-law, uncle, he was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and a Deacon. Ken was a history teacher for over 25 years. He enjoyed visiting Civil War battlefields, bee-keeping, and watching Notre Dame football games. The son of the late Jerry Milton Yates and the late Darlene Louise Forbes Yates, he was born on August 16, 1964 in Long Beach, California. He is survived by his wife, Amy Beth Fossler Yates; sons: Benjamin Kenneth Yates, Thomas William Yates; brothers, Michael Yates (Kelly), David Yates, and numerous nieces and nephews.
