Obituary of Novice Travel Sampson

Ms. Novice Travel Sampson - age 84 of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away Saturday evening, August 13, 2011 at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services for Novice Sampson were conducted on Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Guthrie Thompson and Elder Floyd Ferguson officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were; James Earl Ferguson, Randy East, Johnnie Jones, Anthony Burton, Eugene Burns, Chris Hemphill, and Tim Headrick. Interment followed in the Neal Cemetery. Novice Travel Sampson was born on June 13, 1927 in Monroe County, Kentucky to the late Earnie Edgar and Lillie May Payne Sampson. Besides her parents; one brother, Mitchell Sampson, and a nephew, Roger Sampson also preceded her in death. Novice enjoyed taking care of her home and being outside mowing her yard. She had to have something to do, whether working in her garden or canning. If Novice could not find something that needed doing, she would make something to do. She was a long time member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and was always good to visit her sister churches. Novice always had a sweet personality and a tender smile. She never married, but loved the time spent with her family and friends. Novice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by; Great Nephew, Thomas and Martha Sampson of Hermitage Springs, TN, Sister-in-law, Calcia Sampson of Lafayette, TN, Great-Great Nephews, James & Braxton Sampson, Great-Great Niece, Kianna Sampson all of Hermitage Springs, TN, several cousins & other extended family also survive.
