Obituary of Mary L. Bruce

Mary L. Bruce, age 92 of Gallatin passed away Tuesday November 29, 2016. Funeral Service will be Friday December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Jesse Munday, Robert Simmons, Gary Pickard, Chuck Proffitt, Joe Wilcox, Jeff Wilcox, and John Wilcox serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday December 1st from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Friday December 2nd from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. Bruce was born February 17, 1924 in Muhlenburg County, KY to the late Altha Vincent and Vera Terrants Vincent. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Gene D. Wilcox; 2nd husband, Beaver Bruce; sisters, Lois Bratcher, Lorella Metyre, Mayme Nell Goens, Mildred Martin, Juanita Loney, and Joyce Darling; brothers, Walter Vincent, J. C. Vincent, Bobby Vincent, Billy Vincent, and Ray Allen Vincent; and step son, Jerry Bruce. She is survived by sons, David Wilcox (Zola) of Lexington, KY, and Richard “Dickey” Wilcox (Teresa) of Gallatin; daughter, Diann Wilcox of Knoxville; sister, Rita Jane Nelson of Lurzene, KY; step son, Jimmy Bruce of Florida; step daughter, Eve Jean Bruce Anderson of Gallatin; brother-in-law, Charles Wilcox of Hazard, KY; 9 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
