Obituary of Laura Bernice Powers

Laura Bernice Corlew Powers, 89, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Monday, February 20. The funeral will be at Sellars Funeral Home, Hendersonville at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25 with Reverend Bruce Chesser officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 and an hour before the service on Saturday. Active pallbearers will be Chad Powers, Nathan Meyers, James Rose, Joe Reynolds, David Caldwell, and Alex Bell. Internment will be at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Mrs. Powers was born in Clarksville, TN to Randle Hale Corlew and Mattie Ruby Neblett Corlew. She was an active member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church for 60 years. Mrs. Powers is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Powers, brother Bruce Corlew and sister Mildred Milliken. Survivors include a son, Mark E. Powers (Judie), a daughter, Ruth P. Seitz (Tom), two sisters, Viola Pond (Greenville, SC) and Corrine Cipriano (Portland, OR), grandchildren Chad Powers (Krystie), Brittany Meyers (Nathan), Laura Rose (James), Libby Ford, and great-grandchildren, Slayden and Sophie Powers, Evie and Gabby Jo Meyers, and Callen Rose.
