Obituary of Jessie Murphy Teissler

Jessie Murphy Teissler, age 98 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Funeral Service will be Friday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, with Bob Snell officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 24th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Gallatin Cemetery, with Travis Porter, Bradley Flisek, Aubrey Watson, Sam Rickman, Dave McBride, and Matthew Parker serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Teissler was born February 12, 1919 in Gainsboro, TN, to the late Arthur Lee Murphy and Maggie Lee Philips Murphy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Louis Teissler; daughter, Patricia T. Salem; and brothers, Charlie Murphy, Eugene Murphy, Ernest Murphy, Claude Murphy, and James Murphy. She is survived by daughter, Barbara T. Parker of Gallatin; sister, Marie M. Bates of Waynesboro, TN.; 3 grandchildren, Pam Parker, Stephen Salem (Jennifer), and Ashley Salem; and 4 great grandchildren, Shelby Parker, Matthew Parker, Lindsay Salem, and Tyler Salem. She was a multi-blue ribbon winner for her vegetables at the Sumner County Fair. She was a member of Gallatin First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1937 and was awarded the 50 year member award and pin for the Family and Community Education (FCE) Club.
