Obituary of Reba G. Dorris Morris

Reba G. Morris, age 88 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Johns officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with family members serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 12th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 13th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Morris was born August 31, 1928 in Sumner County, to the late Tom D. Dorris and Vercie King Dorris.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, J. R. Morris; husband, Aubrey Isaiah Morris; daughter, Rita Lauderdale; step-mother, Addie Dorris; step-children, Aubrey G. Morris and Randell Morris; sister, Mary E. Dorris; and 1 grandson.  She is survived by children, Brenda Hammock of Mt. Juliet, Teresa Mitchel (Ed) of Nashville, and Sally “Trudy” Fischer (Matthew) of Mt. Juliet. Step children, Roger Morris of Westmoreland, and Patricia Arp of Manchester; son-in-law, Mark Lauderdale of Gallatin; step daughter-in-law, Shirley Morris of Westmoreland; brothers, Ray Dorris (Lorre) of Gallatin and Roger Dorris (Iris) of Montgomery, AL; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
