Obituary of John Rittenberry

John Rittenberry, age 98 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, September 6th at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Ave).  Interment will follow at Corum Hill Cemetery, with friends serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m.  For the Funeral Service, the family would like to share stories and thoughts of Papa John's life from our loved ones. Mr. Rittenberry was born February 12, 1919 in Trousdale County to the late Robert Herman Rittenberry and Winnie Stephens Rittenberry.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Thelma Lee Moss Rittenberry; son, Robert Thomas Rittenberry; brothers, Dillion Rittenberry, Clark Rittenberry, Ed Rittenberry, and Robert Rittenberry; sisters, Frances Harp, Elizabeth Rittenberry, and Gladys White; and 2 grandchildren, Brett Hensley and Shane Rittenberry .  He is survived by sons, Clay Rittenberry (Cheryl) of Gallatin; daughter, Linda Josephine Hensley of Gallatin; brother, Fred Rittenberry of Lafayette; sister, Reba Glover of Waverly; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Alexander Heritage Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
