Obituary of Norman O'Neal

Norman O. O’Neal, age 87 of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be Friday, September 22nd at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Ave), with Chaplin Paul Gunn officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, September 21st from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a Special Service provided by the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks at 7:00 p.m., and visitation  Friday, September 22nd from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m. 

Mr. O’Neal was born June 3, 1930 in Sumner County, to the late Tollie O’Neal and Alvie Carter O’Neal.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Wylene O’Neal; sisters, Lillian Sandlin, Jennetta Gibbs, Virginia Gray, Hazel Hunt, and Twila Osborne; brothers, Dewey O’Neal and Gerald O’Neal; and niece and nephew, Larry Gray and Delanie Baker.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews, Wendell Sandlin, Eskel Sandlin, Fanonda Hubbard, Melvin O’Neal, Gerald Lee O’Neal, Pam O’Neal, Linda Sue Richardson, Allan O’Neal, Jeff O’Neal, Debbie Hoskins, Ricky Osborne, Jimmy Osborne, Wanda Counch, Danny Gibbs, Carolyn Jean Smith, Geraldean Thompson, Michael Hunt, Roger Hunt, Roger  Hunt, Stanley Hunt, Travis Hunt, Bobby Gray, Jerry Gray, Denese Heitland, Donald Eton, Larry Gray, Katherine Jerrett, and Delaine Baker; and special great niece and nephew, Cole Gibbs and Cassie Gibbs.  Mr. O’Neal retired from the United States Air Force.  He was with the Gallatin Elks Lodge for over 30 years and is a Lifetime Member of the Elks Lodge.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highpoint Hospice, 300 Steam Plant Road, Suite 220, Gallatin, TN  37066.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
