Obituary of Catherine Golden

Catherine Golden, age 87 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Sunday, September 24th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Dr. Stephen Nelson officiating.  Interment will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Kyle Stover, Blake Vantrease, Matthew Golden, Patrick Golden, Brett Houston, and Scott Jones serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Saturday, September 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 24th from 12:00 until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Golden was born January 12, 1930 in Elora, TN to the late Will J. Collins and Beatrice Robertson Collins.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Charles Golden; son-in-law, Michael Powell Riley; brother, Wayne Collins; and sister, Mary Willine Simms.  She is survived by children, Charles Joseph Golden (Pamela Scoggins Golden) of Alabama, Mike Golden of Alabama, Pamela Golden Hoscheit (Greg) of Clearwater, FL, James Thomas Golden (Joy Ann) of Chapel Hill, TN, and Mary Catherine Golden Riley of Gallatin; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.  Mrs. Golden retired from the Sumner County School System as a Teacher and Librarian after 42 years of service, most of which was as Librarian for Gene Brown Elementary School in Hendersonville.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
