Julian Wooten Johnson, Sr.

Gallatin, TN

Age 73, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2017 after a brief illness.

Julian was born on February 9, 1944 in Wilson, NC, the son of the late Lt. Col. Lehman Holson Johnson and Genevieve Wooten Johnson. He was a graduate of Clarksville High School and Austin Peay State University.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Jo Jones Johnson of Gallatin, sons, Julian Wooten Johnson, Jr., of Nashville, TN and Wheeler Pardue Johnson and wife, Mary Elizabeth (Buffy), of Washington, NC and daughter-in-law Amelia McDaniel Johnson of Richmond, VA, and his five grandchildren, Virginia Wyly Johnson and Julian Wooten Johnson, III, both of Richmond, VA and Mary Isabelle Johnson, Genevieve Charles Johnson and Wheeler Pardue Johnson, Jr., all of Washington, NC.  Also surviving are his brothers, Lee Johnson (Mary Deane) of Atlanta, GA and Steve Johnson (Connie) of Plano, TX and his sister, Candy Arey (Robert) of Shelby, NC.

After college, Julian worked in the heavy equipment industry and retired in 2012 from Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers after serving them for 24 years as Regional Manager.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at Alexander Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, Gallatin, TN. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN at 11:00 a.m.
