Obituary of James L. "Bill" Cole

James L. “Bill” Cole, age 91 of Hendersonville, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Friday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Jerry Peace.  Interment will follow the service at Gallatin Cemetery, with Harley Shaff, Casey Shaff, Chase Shaff, Billy McMurtry, Derek Drilling, and John Ralph serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 15th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, February 16th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Cole was born March 21, 1926 in Nashville, to the late James Olie Cole and Myrtle Belle McMurtry Cole.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Mary Elizabeth Parker Cole; daughter, Donna Pyron; son, Michael Greer; and sister, Janie Parker.  He is survived by son, Howard “Bubba” Shaff of Gallatin and Harley (Tammy) Shaff of Orlinda; daughter, Shelia Cook of Gallatin; 7 grandchildren, Chase Shaff (Danie), Casey Shaff (Amanda), Felicia Dyer (Jason), Holly Burge (Matt), Lane Eden, A.J. Cook, and Heather Reynolds (Bobby); 9 great grandchildren, Jacob Haley, Lana Hix, Hayden Shaff, Harrison Shaff, Macie Shaff, Hadleigh Shaff, Jaxson Campbell, Cole Shaver, and Maddox Vandergriff.  Mr. Cole served our country in the United States Navy during WWII.  Mr. Cole loved to fox hunt; He was a very good man.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
