Obituary of Alan Reese Lee

Alan Reese Lee, age 65 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Friday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Sons of Confederate Veterans Chaplain Johnny Keele officiating.  Interment will follow at Gallatin Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 22nd from 11:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, February 23rd from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22nd.

Mr. Lee was born May 1, 1952 in Gallatin to the late Alvin Reese Lee and Mildred Ailene Barnes Lee.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, James Lee.  He is survived by wife of 43 years, Carolyn Pettus Lee of Gallatin; son, Alan Pierce Lee of Gallatin; daughter, Alana Lee Grinder (Sam) of Gallatin; brother, Kenneth Lee (Cindy) of Gallatin; sister, Pat Cotham of Portland; and 2 grandchildren, Alec Brown and Lyla Brown.  Mr. Lee was a graduate of Gallatin High School, class of 1970.  He retired from R. R. Donnelly and Sons after over 40 years of service.  Alan had a love for history and genealogy; he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Gallatin, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, General William B. Bate Camp #34, where he served as past treasurer.  He was a member of Gallatin A.A.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sumner County Museum, P.O. Box 1163 183 W.
