Obituary of Jesse "Jr" Allen, Jr.

Jesse “Jr” Allen, Jr. age 74 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 8th from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Steve Brigance officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 7th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 8th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Entombment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Dennis Redferin, Gary Redferin, Jessie Jones, Bill Givens, Marty Hester, Mack Jackson, Randy Purcell, Steve Leonard, and Tony Cook serving as pallbearers.

Jr was born September 2, 1943 in Jackson County, TN.  He is preceded in death by step-father, Charles “Pap” Redfern; mother, Doris Givens Redfern; brothers, Larry “Poss” Redferin and Jerry Redferin.  He is survived by wife of 53 years, Dorothy Jones Allen of Gallatin; sons, Tim Allen (Marsha) of Gallatin and Jason Allen (Amy) of Bethpage; brothers, Dennis Redferin (Olga) of Cross Plains and Gary Redferin of Cross Plains; sister, Brenda Bush of Cross Plains; and 3 grandchildren, Caleb Allen, Hayden Allen, and Annabelle Allen.  Jr loved to hunt and fish.  He would not miss a dove shoot; he loved to crappie fish.  He also loved to gather with friends, either cooking or building cookers.  He had a very outgoing personality and he never met a man he would not talk to.  He worked at Lockheed Martin and AVCO Aircraft tooling.  He was owner of Allen Tool and Die.  He loved his beloved and devoted wife of 53 years.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
