Obituary of Jerry Forrest Stone

Jerry Forrest Stone, age 75 of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018. Funeral Service will be Saturday at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church (3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN 37075) 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Jeff DeWees officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue) and Saturday, April 21st from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment will follow the service with Military Honors at Beech Cemetery, with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Tommy McDuffee, Kenneth McDuffee, Donal Price, Don Landers, Bobby Worsham, Ronnie Maggart, Jim Lamberson, and Robert McAllister.

Mr. Stone was born March 4, 1943 in Davidson County to the late Forrest McMurtry Stone and Ruby Pollard Stone.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Steve Stone.  He is survived by wife of 53 years, Nancy McDuffee Stone of Hendersonville; children, Nathan Stone (Nickie) of Hendersonville, Anita Barnard (Johnny) of Hendersonville, and Elizabeth Vaughn (Mike) of Goodlettsville; sister, Cathy Stone of Goodlettsville;  aunt, Portia Eidson of Hendersonville; 9 grandchildren, Joseph Barnard, Jonathan Barnard, James Barnard, Forrest Stone, Alton Stone, Reagan Stone, Abbie Vaughn, Katie Vaughn, and Audrey Vaughn; and 2 great grandchildren, Gavin Barnard and Jack Barnard.  Mr. Stone served our country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  Mr. Stone graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a Bachelor’s Degree.  He was a member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and served as an Elder.  He retired from DuPont after 36 years of service.  Mr. Stone served as a Sumner County Commissioner for 12 years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN  37075.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
