We are so blessed that we walked in the doors of Truth and Grace. Sandy had the most welcoming smile and always did even when you know she didn't feel like smiling. She was such a genuine person who I know was always praying for our family. We will miss her beautiful smile and will be praying for Richard and the family.

My heart breaks when I think of the saddness in the family's hearts and lives at the passing of Sandy. I've not seen the family for a couple of decades when they provided services at Freewill Baptist Church in New Castle, DE. I met Sandy when I was having a yard sale and she bought a set of electric curlers from me. LOL Of course she talked to me with that beautiful smile and twinkle in her eyes as she invited me to church. I was not attending any other churches and I have three sons about the same ages as the Atwood boys. So, my boys and myself began going to church there. After going for a while and getting to know her a little better...she was such an easy spirit...she told me she used to pray for me when she curled her hair! I was so blessed with that story. Recently, I had a song that would play over and over in my mind and I was singing it to myself and Sandy and Richard came to mind. The song is Thank You for Giving to the Lord by Ray Boltz. I had to reach out and told them "Thank you" for giving to the Lord. They have blessed me and so many others over the years. I know the family's journey has changed and I will pray that as they greive, they will be able to smile through the tears when memories come up. I know some day, we will all have an astounding family reunion in Heaven. All my love to the Atwood family. Jovita

Saddened that sandy left so soon. She impacted so many lives while living hers through faith, happiness and love of her God & savior as well as those around her. She was a light with her smile and a joy in her happiness. We know her absence will be difficult and we keep you all in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. She will forever be in our memories and hearts. Love from Bob & Ann, Tony & Michelle Birmingham

I thank the Lord for having the privilege of knowing Sandy. She was one of the kindest and loving persons I have known. May her memory spur us on to copy her life of dedication. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Brother Richard and his family.

Richard and family: The lost of a wife and mother is hard. I lost my wife of 60 years. The comfort came by my knowledge of her life and contribution she made. Sandy is remembered as a remarkable hostess when we were invited for a meal at your home. She excelled in so many ways. Good speaker and so personal as she addressed her audience. The envy of many as she led the way in whatever cause. I think of my wife every day and so will you. Think of all the good things she did. How you were so complete together. My Bible verse became Psalm 34:7. My prayers! Alton Loveless Columbus, Ohio

Sandy & Richard always amazed me when I was a young child and we attended Chesterfield First Fee Will Baptist Church. Their kindness and love for others radiated from both of them. As a child rhis really stuck with me through adulthood. Their love for Gid each it her and their family was so powerful Richard's Preaching and Sandy's piano playing has been an inspiration to me and others May God put his hand upon this precious family as they have lost a Great God Fearing Loving Lady

If I had to use one word to describe Sandy, it would be KIND. To everybody, always, with a beautiful smile on her face. Everybody loved her and I know she is currently having an awesome reunion with family and friends and best of all she has seen Jesus, face to face. Praise the Lord!

I have so many special memories of Sandy. Her enthusiasm, bubbly spirit, continual smile and encouragement as she allowed Jesus to shine through her so brightly. I am so thankful for her mentoring as we homeschooled our children together, spent many hours in prayer together in Moms In Touch prayer group, and participated in so many activities in our church together at Townsend. She always amazed me how she could "jump in at a moments notice" to teach any class, with her vibrant spirit. I am so thankful our children grew up together, and I know she and Richard had such a huge impact on our entire family's lives. Nathan and Joel had so many "adventures" together, and I know Joel cherished their friendship so greatly and viewed their household as their second home. My heart goes out to you Richard and all your family as you go through this tremendous loss. May His Peace which passeth all understanding be yours in Christ Jesus. Hugs and prayers from Delaware.

Sis Sandy was probably the kindest and most giving lady I’ve ever known. She genuinely cared for you and was interested in your life. I was fortunate enough to have learned from her at a marriage conference that she and Bro Richard led for our church in Shafter, CA. Last year she allowed me to be a part of her ladies Zoom Bible Study so I got to catch up with her and renew our friendship. I can only imagine the hole that has been left in her family’s life and will be praying for all of you. She was a terrific example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Love and miss you until we meet again.

Sandy was one priceless woman. I met her years ago as her and Pastor Richard were our Pastor and Pastor's wife in New Castle, DE. She always had a smile and kind words for everyone. She was a true friend. God surely has an Angel with Him now. I pray for peace and comfort for Pastor and family. She walked this Pilgrim way on earth, now she is Home.
