Gary Austin Hall

Gary Austin Hall, age 73 of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away on March 5th, 2019. Mr. Hall worked in Civil Defense in East Tennessee for several years. He worked as a carpenter for TVA at several locations and continued his career as a carpenter for Nashville Local 223. He went on to serve as a Judicial Commissioner and an 8th District County Commissioner for Wilson County. He was President of the Lions Club and Big Brothers of Mt. Juliet. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for Wilson County Youth Ranch and was an Eagle Scout. Gary enjoyed golfing, fishing, football, Nascar racing, and helping his community in any way possible.

 

            The Funeral Service conducted by James Edwards, will be held Sunday, March 10th 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens with military honors. Pallbearers: Chris Warren, Justin Hodges, Parker Cline, Jakob Austin, Phillip James, Daryl Sharp, Rick Wheeler, and Justen Keaton. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9th from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, March 10th 11:00 a.m. until service time.

 

            He is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Ann Darlene Ford Hall; daughter, Ashli (Chris) Warren and their children and step – children, Emily Pollock, Eli Warren, Elliott Warren, Samantha Warren, and Mickayla Warren; daughter Rebecca (Justin) Hodges and their son, Jakob Hodges; siblings, Doris Little, Mike Hall, and Yevette Olmsted; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by parents, George Franklin and Martha Patton Hall; brothers, Jere Hall and Randy Hall; paternal grandparents, Robert and Hattie Hall; maternal grandparents, David and Lily Patton.

 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation: Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or Lions Club of Mt. Juliet.

 

            The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and St. Thomas Midtown Hospital.
