Imogene “Jean” Thurman, age 101 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Andrew Spivey officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens. Mrs. Thurman was born November 30, 1919 in Lauderdale County, AL to the late Walter Jackson Griggs and Annie Eliza Watkins Griggs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Howard Thurman; son, Ronald B. Rasnick; brothers R.W. Griggs, W. J. Griggs, Tom Griggs, Grady Griggs, Bernard Griggs and Jim Griggs; sisters, Viva Griggs, Neva Griggs Godwin, Marcella Griggs McBride, and Margarette “Marg” Griggs Terrell. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Myra Rasnick of Gallatin; sister, Ann Griggs Rodgers of Brewton, AL; 3 grandchildren, Bart Rasnick (Jennifer), Meredith Rasnick Andrews, Kerry Howell (Angela); and 3 great grandchildren, Jackson Wilson, Madalynne Andrews, and Amelia Jones.
