Obituary of Billie Durham

Billie Durham, age 87 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021. Funeral Service will be Sunday, June 6th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, June 6th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Rock Bridge Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mr. Durham was born March 21, 1934 in Sumner County to the late Lawrence Durham and Cammie Durham. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Margaret Hill Perry Durham; brother, Lawrence Durham, Jr; and sister, Ruth Carter. He is survived by children, Sherrie Durham of Mt. Juliet, Lynn Rickel (Rollie) of Portland, Debra Parks (James) of Portland, and Eddie Lee of Murfreesboro; brother, Alton Durham (Linda) of Gallatin; sisters, Nila Martin of Portland and Peggy Pryor of Gallatin; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Durham retired from the Sumner County Highway Department after over 15 years of service. He worked at Volunteer State Community College in maintenance.
