Obituary of Emily "Ann" Googe Davis

Emily “Ann” Googe Davis, age 74 of Hartsville, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021. A combined Celebration of Life Service for Pastor Davis and Mrs. Ann Davis will be Saturday, September 4th at 3:00 p.m. (CST) in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, September 4th from 12:00 p.m. (CST) until time of service at 3:00 p.m. (CST). Graveside Service will be Sunday, September 5th at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) at Loudon County Memorial Gardens. Should friends desire, the family welcomes flowers or memorial donations to Mending Fences Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 2651, Lebanon, TN 37088. Mrs. Davis was born August 17, 1947, in Pompano Beach, FL, to the late Thelma Stofel Googe and the late Odell Googe. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred A. Davis. She is survived by son, Anthony “Tony” Davis (Maryann) of Castalian Springs; daughter, Mary Lucinda “Cindy” Valentine of Nashville; sister, Pat Estes of Philadelphia, TN; brothers, C.L Googe (Janet) of Jacksonville, FL, and Tom Googe (Lynn) of West Palm Beach, FL; and 5 grandchildren, Justin Valentine, Bethany Valentine, Trey Davis, Austin Valentine, and Brooke Davis. Mrs. Davis retired from LifeWay Christian Resources in 2002 after serving 10 years as a Publication Assistant. Prior to that she was a self-employed craftsman and seamstress and worked as Deputy Clerk of the General Sessions Court of Knoxville. Mrs. Davis greeted everyone with a warm smile and compassion. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She always put others before herself and was a true disciple of Christ. As with all of the churches that her husband pastored over the years in both East and Middle Tennessee, Ann was extremely active in Mending Fences Cowboy Church in Lebanon, TN, where Pastor Davis was the lead pastor.
