Obituary of Jewel Dean Givens

Jewel Dean Givens, age 98 of Gallatin, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021. Graveside Service will be Monday, September 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memory Gardens, with Rev. Micah Myers officiating. Honoring her as pallbearers are Jon McDonald, Tony Cook, Bill Givens, Kenny Givens, Billy Givens, Jr., and Chad McKinney. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highpoint Hospice, 300 Steam Plant Road, Suite 220, Gallatin, TN 37066. Mrs. Givens was born January 13, 1923 in Jackson County, TN to the late Dewey Jenkins and Effie Jones Jenkins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, J. T. Givens; son, Jimmy Givens; great grandchild, Adam Cook; brother, Joe Jenkins; and sisters, Kay Keely, Tom Bowman, Doris Hall, Jean Cope, and Virginia Riggsbee. She is survived by children, Patricia Manning of Gallatin, William “Bill” Givens (Anna) of Gallatin, and Kenneth Givens of Hendersonville; sister, Cindy Jenkins of Portland; 5 grandchildren, Jimmy Dean Givens, Anthony Cook, Jon McDonald, Billy Givens, and Regan Givens; 3 great grandchildren, Amber McKinney, Shelby McDonald, and Allison McDonald; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Liberty Cook and Ava McKinney.
