Obituary of Shirley Jay Goad

Mr. Shirley J. Goad, age 84, of The Sunrise Community, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Shirley Goad are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 2 PM from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Eric Phillips and Elder Ross Brawner officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 5 PM until 9 PM, and on Thursday, from 9 AM until service time at 2 PM. The family respectfully request donations be made towards Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church. Shirley J. Goad was preceded in death by his Wife, Lillie Evon Goad; Children, Eddie Goad, Debbie Jo Terhune, Jeff Emmert, and Greg Emmert; Brother, Charles Goad; Sister in law, Becky Goad; and Brothers in law, Willard Phillips and Doug Gregory. He is survived by; Children, Shane Goad and wife, Kristy Natalie Turner and husband, Larry Tabatha Harp and husband, Chris Daughter-in-law, Penny Goad Sharon Emmert Son-in-law, Tom Terhune Grandchildren, Amber Love Jeret Goad Lindsey Goad Matt and Emily Emmert Deven and Jennifer Harp Riley and Ryan Crumb Trace Patterson Dalton Patterson Dallas Johnson John Crabtree Amanda and Ryan Etter Siblings, Leland Goad and wife, Hazel Ray Goad and wife, Peggy Jimmy Goad Barbara Gregory Carmolene Phillips Sister-in-law, Christine Goad Special Family Friends, Linda Cropper Chevelle Johnson Ten Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
