Obituary of Robert "Bob" Weidner

Robert “Bob” Weidner, age 82 of Castalian Springs, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 on a beautiful sunny day watching the reflection of the sun off the lake that he loved so much. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 29th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Stephen Russell and Elder Ronnie Tennant officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 28th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 29th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Historic Gallatin Cemetery, with Jon Weidner, Ken Weidner, Garrett Weidner, Tyler Weidner, Brant Weidner, and Cam Crutcher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, Sumner County Emergency Management Agency, and the Bledsoe Tribe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Union Church of Christ Youth Fund, 2505 Hartsville Pike, Castalian Springs, TN 37031. Mr. Weidner was born January 9, 1939 in Middletown, Ohio to the late George Robert Weidner and Ida Elizabeth “Sis” Caldwell Weidner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Geri Weidner. He is survived by sons, Jon Weidner (Geretta) of Gallatin and Ken Weidner (Donna) of Gallatin; brothers, Richard Lee Weidner of Palmetto, FL, Kenneth Eugene Weidner (Bonnie) of Palm Harbor, FL, and Jim Weidner of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Weidner, Brant Weidner (Nicci Alves), Garrett Weidner (Brittany Vaughn), and Tyler Weidner (Tuesday); 3 great grandchildren, Jon Allen Summers, Grady Vaughn, and (coming soon) Baby Girl Weidner; and several sisters-in law and brothers-in-law. Mr. Weidner proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Bob was a mechanic, an electrician, worked at Sumner Regional Medical Center for many years, and served Sumner County for 25 years with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. He loved the lake, fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors. He had wonderful neighbors who are so appreciated, with special thanks to Ron, Debby, Sheryl, and Cam.
