Obituary of Jewell Lee Colter Steen

Ms. Jewell Lee Colter Steen, age 86, of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Macon Community Hospital. Funeral services for Jewell Steen are scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2 PM, from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jeff Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will begin at the funeral home on Monday, December 27, 2021, from 2 PM until 9 PM, and on Tuesday, from 9 AM until service time 2 PM. Family respectfully requests that anyone in attendance of the visitation or funeral service to please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Ms. Jewell Steen was preceded in death by 1st Husband, James Wakefield and 2nd Husband, Billy Steen; Daughter, Wanda Ellis; Sons, Jerry Wakefield and Jimmy “Bo” Steen; Parents, Georgie Franklin Colter and Pearl Eloise Smalling Colter; Brother, Will T. Colter; Sisters, Erma Sue Back and Ruby Bartley. An Infant Sister also preceded her in death. She is survived by; Son, John Steen and wife, Wendy Daughter, Pam Wright and husband, Jimmy Son-in-law, Jerry Ellis Sisters, Dorthy Mae Russell Helen Patterson and husband, Omer Special Niece, Joyce Ann Jones Ten Grandchildren, Sixteen and two more on the way Great-Grandchildren, and Two Great-Great-Grandchildren also survive.
