Obituary of Ann Wright

Ann “Buttercup” Wright, age 79 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Dr. Travis Fleming officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 5th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Bo Bowling, Scott Carter, Mark Harris, Phillip Bowling, Drew Bowling, and Chanc Bowling serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Betty Bowling, Bettefinch Coley, Nancy Roth, Linda Brown, Marilyn Kittrell, Sara Jones, Linda Webster, Montee Beaty, Joan Schmidt, and Kay Gillespie. Mrs. Wright was born September 27, 1942 in Nashville to the late John Allen Prosser and Sara Alice Beasley Prosser. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Billy W. Wright. She is survived by daughters, Christi Carter (Scott) of Cottontown and Ellen Wise of Portland; brothers, George Prosser (Nancy) of Knoxville and Glen Prosser (Polly) of Oak Ridge; nephews, John Prosser and Tom Prosser; 3 grandchildren, Abby Patterson, Trevor Patterson, and Erin Harris (Mark); 2 great grandchildren, Will Gregory and Katie Harris; and very best friend, Betty Bowling. Mrs. Wright retired from the Sumner County School System after 33 years of dedicated service. She was a teacher at Rucker-Stewart Middle School, going above and beyond her duties to positively influence the lives of so many students.
