Obituary of Ben Mayberry

Ben Mayberry, age 89 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Friday, February 4th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Julius Hovan and Eddie Mayberry officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, February 3rd from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, February 4th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.  Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with Andy Mayberry, Bryson Mayberry, Nathan Pruett, Foster Gregory, Lucian Borders, Phil Hollins, Leroy Irons, and Greg Schreiner serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Mark Pruett, V. K. Rutledge, Jerry Conyers, David Schreiner, John Cox, Joel Harrison, Marvin Marksberry, Chase Butler, Anthony Holt, Dwayne Hunter, Ricky Hollins, Steve Hollins, Frankie Downs, Brownie Lemons, Montee Beaty, Sarah Jones.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mayberry Mission Fund at Gallatin Church of Christ, 150 East Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mr. Mayberry was born July 10, 1932 in Gallatin to the late Robert Gooch Mayberry and Edith Ring Mayberry.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Robert Mayberry III and Ross Mayberry; sister, Dorothy Mayberry McDonald; and niece, Sarina Mayberry Brownlee.  He is survived by wife of 65 years, Lou Della Smith Mayberry of Gallatin; son, Ben Ralston “Bennie” Mayberry (Sandra) of Gallatin; daughter, Luanne Mayberry Kemper (Tommy) of Gallatin; grandsons, Andrew Blake “Andy” Mayberry and Bryson Phillip Mayberry (Lauren); great grandsons, Ralston John Mayberry and Rhodes Whelchel  Mayberry; sisters-in-law, Edna Earle Womack Mayberry and Patricia Watts Mayberry; nephew, Ronald Edward “Eddie” Mayberry (Betty); nieces, Robbie Faye Mayberry Pruett (Mark), Jane DeBow McDonald Griggs (John), and Rachel Mayberry Wurtz (Joe); great nephews, Joseph Griggs, Nathan Pruett, and Ross Weisbecker; great nieces, Sabrina Chantay Bullard, Kristina Bullard Luciani, Emily Griggs, Elizabeth Griggs, Dakota Weisbecker, Holli Brownlee, and Hailey Brownlee.  Mr. Mayberry served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a farmer all of his life and a life-long member of the Gallatin Church of Christ.  The family would like to recognize Alive Hospice for their special care during this difficult time.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored to assist the family.
