Obituary of Glenda Simpson

Glenda Simpson, age 82 of Portland, formerly of Cottontown, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Andy Burton officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, April 4th from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 5th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with great grandsons serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Al Menah Shriners Children’s Hospitals, P.O. Box 78545, Nashville, TN  37207 or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.

Mrs. Simpson was born December 27, 1939 in Kingsport, TN to the late James Adams and Ruth Joyner Adams.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Ben L. Simpson; daughter, Carolyn Taylor; and granddaughter, Kisha Agee.  She is survived by children, Sandy Molasy (Barry) of Nashville, Terry McLemore-Mullins (Daniel) of Palm Desert, CA, Ben Simpson (Deana) of Providence, KY, Cathy Ward (Steve) of Canton, GA, Lori Martin (Terry) of Portland, Michele Burton (Billy) of Cottontown, and Angie Waggoner (John) of Portland; grandchildren, Jay Richardson (Laura), Tony Richardson (Anne), Jason Ghee (Donna), Jason Molasy (Paula), Caretta Hayes (T.J.), Lindsey Schaffter (Ehren), Kimberly Klee (Andrew), Stephanie Minor (Jay), Rachel Flatt (Michael), Amanda Phelps (Loy), Paige Martin, Teri Herder (Judd), Adam Womac (Michelle), Eric Womac, Amy Burton (Mike), and Autumn Harris; and 32 great grandchildren.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored to assist the family.
