Obituary of Jo Bishop

Jo Ethel Bishop passed away April 2, 2022 at age 86. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Rob Long and Jody Apple, is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN.  Private interment in Bishop Family Cemetery. Pallbearers: grandsons: Jamie Hobgood, Jonas Hobgood, Jaden Hobgood, Dan Carter, Josh Miller, and Jacob Lee. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon with the service at 2 p.m.

               Jo Ethel Bishop was born in Caruthersville MO to Flora Irene Richardson Pitts and Lee Solomon Pitts. She was a homemaker and wonderful cook. She loved being with her family, friends, and church family. She will be remembered for her awesome hospitality and all the special food she so loved to serve, especially breakfast time. She was famous for her biscuits and gravy. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord; nothing meant more to her than this. She was a member at Maple Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children: Teresa (Jim) Buell, Deanna (Tim) Campbell, and Denise (Todd) Bingham; grandchildren: Tracie (Dan) Carter, Karen (Jamie) Hobgood, Angela Kirby Wright, Dana (Josh) Miller, Kayla (Jacob) Lee, Katie (Chad) Chrisman, Jessica Campbell, and Elena Bingham; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jonas, Caleb, Jaden, Chloe, Keely, Canaan, Ben, Noah, Kelsey, Callen, Weston, Ezra, Aubrie, Ella, Braelyn, Carson, Evie, Shep, and Tylie; siblings: Cynthia Ann (Randy) Lynn and Mike Pitts; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband Jonas “Bud” Bishop, grandson-in-law Nate Kirby, parents Irene and Lee Pitts, and brothers Max Pitts, Charles Pitts, and Rob Pitts.
