Mrs. Betty Toney, age 84 of Portland, TN passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 8:12 PM at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. ***THE FAMILY ASKS THAT MASKS BE WORN DURING VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE.*** Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson County, KY. Betty was born June 17, 1937 in Simpson County, KY to the late Robert Gregory and the late Flossie Gregory. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Toney; 2 daughters, Linda Russell and Nancy Brown; a son, Jimmy Toney; 2 sisters, Joyce Carver and Janie Buchanan; and 1 brother, Jackie Gregory. She is survived by 4 children, Cathy Gregory (Chip), Robbie Conyer (Tommy), Pam Allen (Eddie) and Tim Toney all of Portland, TN; 18 grandchildren, Kim, Nick, Tyler, Jamie, Mike, Amy, Greg, Scotty, Shane, Shanda, Vicki, John, Brian, Jenafer, James, Derrick, Kelly and Shelly; 45 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Glenda Jones of Franklin, KY and Brenda Perdue of Franklin, KY; 1 brother, Don Gregory of Franklin, KY; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Toney. Betty was of Baptist faith. She attended Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Betty retired from factory work and selling produce. She was unique for her love for everyone and her cooking.
