Mr. Jimmy Allen Herbst, age 77, of Portland, TN passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 4:20 AM at the Hendersonville Hospital in Hendersonville, TN. Mr. Herbst’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Jimmy was born on January 2, 1945 in Lima, OH to the late Lowell B. Herbst and the late Wanda Waneta (McCaslin) Herbst. He is also preceded in death by 2 children, Jim Herbst and Sheri Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Herbst; 1 son, Jack Johnson (Yvonne) of Springboro, OH; 3 brothers, Gary Herbst of Lima, OH, Donald Herbst of Cridersville, OH and Robert Herbst of Van Wert, OH; and his cat, Louise. Jimmy attended McKendree United Methodist Church in Portland, TN. He was a former police officer and service manager for car dealerships.
