Obituary of William Joseph Thompson

Mr. William J. Thompson, age 87 of New Deal, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Mr. Thompson was born on February 1, 1935 in New Deal, Tennessee to the late Brownie and Ruby Link Thompson. Mr. Thompson is survived by his sons, Gary (Sherri) Thompson and Scott (Jaime) Thompson; daughter, Karen Thompson Steward; grandchildren, Chelsea Steward Rogers (Dusty Janz), Sherah Steward Gregory, Drew (Megann) Thompson, Drake (Tabitha) Thompson, Evin (Christy) Thompson, Spencer Thompson, and Dillon Hepler; nine great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ava Davis Thompson; sister, Evelyn Brinkley Biggs; grandson, T.C. Stubblefield; Son-In-Law, Rusty Steward, Jr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 25th at 12 PM from the chapel at Gilbert Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Stone officiating. Interment will follow the service at Halltown Cemetery with Drew Thompson, Drake Thompson, Evin Thompson, Spencer Thompson, Scott Thompson, and Dusty Janz serving as pallbearers.
