Obituary of Donald Reese Carter, Sr.

Donald Reese Carter, Sr., age 75 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Dr. Travis Fleming officiating.  Visitation will be Monday, April 11th from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 12th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Donald Reese Carter, Jr, Justin Cline, Roman Navarro, Jason Carter, Dale Thacker, and Timmy Whiticker serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Carter was born September 4, 1946 in Sumner County to the late James William Carter and Lillian Delphia Pryor Carter.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Raymond Carter.  He is survived by wife of 51 years, Carol Whiticker Carter of Gallatin; daughter, Donna Thacker (Dale) of Gallatin; son, Donald Reese Carter, Jr (Adrian) of Gallatin; brothers, James Carter of Gallatin and John Carter (Gloria) of Florida; sister, Mildred Carter of Gallatin; 7 grandchildren, Brittany Kennedy (Chris), Justin Cline, Arcelia “A.J.” Cline, Roman Navarro (Savannah), Gerry Navarro (Hailey), Isreal Flores, and Donald Carter III; and 7 great grandchildren, Saylor Kennedy, Iris Navarro, Phoenix Navarro, Mathias Navarro, Annzley Flora, Alyza Flora, and Atlas Flora.  Mr. Carter served our country in the United States Army.  He retired from the City of Gallatin after 21 years of service.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored to assist the family.
