Obituary of Anthony Wayne Brown, Jr.

Mr. Anthony “Tony” Wayne Brown, Jr. aka Downtown Brown, age 47 of Portland, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at TriStar Portland ER. Mr. Brown was born on May 4, 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee to Debra Brown and Anthony Brown, Sr.

Tony is survived by his son, Elijah Austin Brown; mother, Debra Brown (Bill Gamble); father, Anthony (Kim) Brown, Sr.; girlfriend of nine years, Samantha Lancaster; sisters, April (David) Law, Tasha Gamble, and Stacy (Preston) Lampley; brother, Jeremy (Doreen) Brown; step-sister, Courtney Ford; step-brother, Ryan Hunter; nieces, Callie Brown, Paisley Brown, Fayth Law, Isabelle Law, and Kaylin Pharris; nephews, Matthew Gamble, Maverick Baird, Grayson Law, Easton Creekmore, Sam Law, and Matthew Law; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bowen and Gertrude Hinkle and Charles Brown and Betty Riggsbee.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 14th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Gilbert Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Willis officiating. Interment will follow the service at Old Brush Cemetery with James “Tooter” Gosnell, David Law, Jeremy Brown, Tim Hancock, Bobby Lancaster, Kurtis Polson, Josh Lancaster, and Donnie Roth serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, April 14th from 12:00 PM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made towards the funeral expenses.
