The highlight of my summers growing up was when my cousin David would visit from Gulfport MS. He would usually come up and stay for a few weeks with my uncle Jay's in-laws but would come over and hang out with me. David was funny and mischievous so to no avail we always had a good time. He was quick with a joke and he was always playing pranks on people but mast notably his sister Cindy. Everything from hiding behind things jumping out to startle her or the one that always got the best response, putting a woodchip out of the mulch on her shoulder and yelling "Cockroach" while seeking the best get-a-way route leaving her screaming and ready to dust him. David had a nature about him that he never out grew that made him a likable and fun person to be around. David loved his family, he shared a special bond with his Grandpa B. Smith, when he was in town they were practically inseparable. Most of all David loved his mom and she loved him. I will miss James David as his mom always referred to him, most likely because he was in some sort of trouble. The stories I could tell about just the times I had with him but all be told you couldn't put it all in a single bookcase. My prayer is that he is at peace now no longer burdened with the troubles of this world and enjoying the peace of the next. May God bless him. I love you Cousin.
