Obituary of Norma Daniel Jones

Norma Daniel Jones, age 98 of Gallatin, passed away, Friday, May 13, 2022 in Hendersonville.  There will be a graveside service Thursday, May 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mrs. Jones was born   February 29, 1924 in Lynchburg, TN and resided in Gallatin most of her life.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Willard S. “Junior” Jones, Jr.; parents, Clyde E. Daniel and Argie Waggoner Daniel; step-mother, Sadie Barnes Daniel; brother, F. Allen Daniel and Mary Jane Daniel; and sons-in-law, Jim Vantrease and Steve Weakley.  She is survived by daughter, Sandra Weakley; son, W. S. “Sam” Jones III (Jo Beth); grandchildren, Natalie Vantrease (Matthew Masters), Jamie Gomez (Horacio), Kristen Lockhart (Will), and Conner Jones (Kristen); great grandchildren, Eli Gomez, Zoe Johnson, Mia Gomez, Landry Lockhart, and John William Lockhart; brother, Clyde E. Daniel, Jr. (Linda); and many nieces and nephews.

Norma was a graduate of Gallatin High School and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin.  She was a teacher and Director of the First Presbyterian Nursery School.  In addition, she was in charge of Meals-on-Wheels for several years.  She enjoyed playing bridge and golf.  She was her daughter’s scout troop leader through high school.  The family wishes to thank Adoration Hospice who gave her comfort in her final hours.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored to assist the family.
