Obituary of Jerry Harold Sides

Jerry Harold Sides, age 86 of Gallatin, was called to his heavenly home Saturday, May 14, 2022.  Memorial Service will be Thursday, May 19th at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Gallatin, with Rev. Mike Potts officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 19th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Gallatin.  Inurnment, with Military Honors, will be Friday, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin Preschool Scholarship Fund, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN  37066.

Mr. Sides was born February 25, 1936 in Montgomery, AL to the late Ollis Durant Sides and Vera Gertrude Brown Sides.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Faye Sides; and brother, Freddie Sides.  He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sharon White Sides; his children, Paul Sides (Crystal) of Millington, TN, Myra Cox of Munford, TN, Michelle Jones (Stephen) of Thompson’s Station, TN, and Elizabeth Bellard (Eric) of Jacksonville, NC; his brothers, Jimmy Sides (Sharon) of Chelsea, AL, John David Sides of Odenville, AL, and Kenneth Sides of Jacksonville, FL; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.  Mr. Sides served our country in the United States Navy, retiring after 22 years of service.  He taught for 15 years at Tennessee Tech at Memphis and was a substitute teacher at Peabody High School in Trenton, TN for 5 years.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
