Obituary of Scott Morris

Scott Morris (60), of Mt. Juliet, TN, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 5, 2022. He was born on May 22, 1962 in Alexandria, LA. Scott, or “Scotty” as he was affectionately known by many, grew up in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and later moved to Nashville with his family at the age of 13. After becoming a Nashvillian, he went on to graduate from John Overton High School where he lettered in football all three years under legendary Head Coach, Nick Coutras.

Scott was a life-long entrepreneur, building a number of successful businesses from the ground up including the Allergy Relief Store in Franklin, TN and Designed Climate, Inc. with his partner, Ken Carpenter.  Working closely with clients in their homes, Scott and Ken developed and patented a whole house dehumidification technology that was much needed to help his asthmatic and lung clients.  This technology has been distributed commercially over the last several years by a top worldwide HVAC company.

Scott’s entrepreneurial accomplishments were impressive and numerous, but pale in comparison to his achievements as a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many. He was the salt of the earth, one of the most genuine people you could ever have the privilege to meet in your lifetime. He was a big, strong man with a heart, personality, and sense of humor to match. His presence lit up every room he walked into…along with his booming, infectious laugh. Scott had the unique and special ability to love, care for, and motivate people in a way that left you feeling like you could accomplish anything in the world that you set your mind to. He was everyone’s biggest cheerleader and celebrated your successes as if they were his own. He was the epitome of a true and faithful motivator.

Above all else, Scotty was a family man. His loved ones meant more to him than anything else in the world, particularly his wife Michelle and two daughters McKenna and Delaney. Those three individuals were his universe, and he would move mountains to make sure they had everything they could ever need. If you asked him, they were undoubtedly the greatest accomplishments of his lifetime.

Scott is survived by his wife, Michelle Brown Morris, daughters, McKenna and Delaney, brother Craig Morris (Melanie), sisters Kim Gallas (Kenny), Penny Daddio (Jim), and Heather Farris (Keith), parents-in-law Joe and Brenda Brown, sisters-in-law Amy Chisenhall (David) and Katy Wallish (Josh), nephews and nieces John Michael Morris (fiancée Chelsea Haefner) and Cari Morris, Ryan Phillips, Trey Daddio (Ashlee), Jeffrey and Jordan Daddio, Gracey, Luke, and Lauren Wallish, and Morgan Farris, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Jackie Morris and father Johnny Morris.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 3:00pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet, 2229 N. Mt. Juliet Road, Mt Juliet, TN. Visitation with the family will be 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

In keeping with Scott’s bigger than life personality, bright colored attire is welcome. Scott’s girls’ college education was of utmost importance to him.  In lieu of flowers, if you choose, donations can be made directly to an educational account under McKenna and Delaney Morris at Southern Bank of Tennessee, 675 N, Mt. Juliet Road, Mt Juliet, TN or Venmo @MMorris999.

The Funeral Service will be live-streamed.
