Obituary of John "Jack" Reiger, Jr.

John “Jack” Reiger, Jr., age 79 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Friday, August 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin.  Visitation will be Friday, August 5th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Macon County Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959 or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Mr. Reiger was born October 16, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to the late John Frank Reiger, Sr. and Dorothy Scullin Reiger.  He is survived by wife of 45 years, Wanda Moss Reiger of Gallatin; daughter, Danita Reiger Ward (Mike) of Bowling Green, KY; sisters, Ellen Fearn of Fort Worth, TX and Anne Barrett (Rick) of Fort Worth, TX; and 2 grandchildren, Luke Reiger Eysenbach and Logan Matthew Ward.  Mr. Reiger served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had a career in human resources management for many years.  After retirement, he was a school bus driver for the Sumner County Transportation Department and was a teacher at Volunteer State Community College.  Mr. Reiger was a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ in Hendersonville.  Jack was a wonderful man who loved helping people and getting to know them.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin has been honored to assist the family.
