Obituary of Tommy Woods

Tommy Woods, age 73 of Bethpage, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Jerry Willoughby officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3rd from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 4th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Sherron Cemetery with Keith Simpson, Kevin Simpson, Troy Glover, Chaz Clayton, Tracy White, and Bobby Woods serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Woods was born August 11, 1949 in Macon County to the late Andrew Woods and Nancy Summers Woods.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Johnny Woods.  He is survived by wife of 53 years, Catherine Simpson Woods of Bethpage; sons, Mike Woods (Kim) of Sevierville, TN and Mark Woods (Jackie) of Westmoreland; brother, William Woods of Hartsville; sister, Mary Eldridge of Bethpage; 6 grandchildren, twins, Elizabeth Woods Clayton (Chaz), Laura Woods Brown (Lloyd), Hailey Woods, Madison Woods, Bryson Woods, and Benjamin Woods; and 2 great grandchildren, Ava Rose Brown and Aiden Brown.  Mr. Woods served our country in the United States Marines.  He worked for Peterbilt for 15 years, TVA for several years, and then worked at his favorite job of farming, which was his joy.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.
