Obituary of Janet M. Butt

Mrs. Janet M. Butt, age 87 of Clarksville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, Tennessee. Mrs. Butt was born on August 28, 1935 in Gay, West Virginia to the late Theodore and Della Coon Payne.

Mrs. Butt is survived by daughter, Gail Hernly; step daughters, Debra (Don) Gosnell and Lynette (John) McKee; grandchildren, Tiffany (Chris) Burns, Crystal (Chris) Jakubowicz, Jason McKee, Stephen (Mackinsie) Jenks, and Michael (Rachel) Jenks; great-grandchildren, Micah Jakubowicz, Jasmine Jakubowicz, Bryant Burns, Lukas Burns, Paxton McKee, Lincoln McKee, Camden McKee, Stella McKee, and Wesley Jenks; sister, Reva Tolley; loving nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, James “JM” Butt; daughter, Cheryl Fowler; brothers, Homer Payne, Rollin Payne, and Nelson Payne; sisters, Elva Walker and Jessie Smith.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 10^th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Portland with Michael Tolley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Portland Memorial Gardens with Michael Tolley, Paul Walker, Steve Jenks, John Hernly, Michael Jenks, and Matthew Walker serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 10^th from 11:00 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
