Martha Breed Privett, age 92 died Sunday, September 25, 2022 in Gallatin, TN. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Rev. Dr. George W. Privett Jr.; by John and Ethel Breed, parents; Wilbur & Frank, brothers; Mildred, Lois, Mary Beth, Sara, and Talitha (twin) sisters. She is survived by her sons: Rev. Jonathan (Cathleen) Phoenix, AZ; David of Nashville, TN and Ronald (Becki) of, Nashville, TN; five grandchildren: Sarah Privett Craft (Alex), Emilie Privett, Connor Privett, William Privett, & Sean Privett; and many nieces and nephews. Martha found Jesus Christ as Savior as a child guided by her mother. She received her education at Trevecca Nazarene University, Georgia Baptist Hospital and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In addition to assisting in music and children's ministries in churches in Alabama, North Carolina, Colorado, and Tennessee, she also worked as a Registered Nurse and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She retired from Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1993. She was a member of the Quilters Club at the Donelson FiftyForward Center. She was active in the Becomers and Pate Sunday School classes at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene. Her memorial service will be held in the Prayer Chapel at Trevecca Community Church on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 2:30 pm with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Jonathan Privett.
Interment will be at a later date in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the George & Martha Privett Student Endowment Fund, Trevecca Nazarene University, 333 Murfreesboro Rd, Nashville, TN 37210.
