Mrs. Milliken was born October 17, 1943 in Gallatin, and raised in the Sulphura Community, to the late Olie B. Mrs. Milliken was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and First Baptist Gallatin.  She began her career at Gallatin Aluminum Products Company (Gapco) in Gallatin, as secretary for Gallatin businessman and historian Walter T. Durham.  That job would culminate into a 52-year career as his associate researching, editing, and proofing numerous books on Sumner County and Middle Tennessee history.  She was a past president of the Sumner County Historical Society and served on the boards of the Society, the Sumner County Museum Association, and Historic Cragfont.   In 2002, she co-edited Gallatin 200, A Time Line History Celebrating the Bicentennial of Gallatin, Tennessee with Walter Durham.  During this same year, she was presented the Silver Quill Award in recognition and appreciation of outstanding dedication to preserving the history of the City of Gallatin.  In 2009, she served as the Chair of the Portland Sesquicentennial Book Committee.  This book, Sesquicentennial, Portland, Tennessee, provides an illustrated timeline of the 150-year history of Portland.  Also in 2009, she served on the 150th Anniversary Committee for First Baptist Church, Gallatin.  A publication was developed that documented the history of the church for the sesquicentennial milestone.  Her favorite charities were Sumner Regional Medical Center and Volunteer State Community College.
