Obituary of Neva Fiumara

Neva Fiumara passed away on November 3, 2022 at age 62. No services have been scheduled.

Geneva Marie Fiumara was born in Yonkers NY to Shirley Ann Titsworth Fiumara and Bernard Phillip Fiumara. Neva received her Associate Degree from Nossi College of the Arts. She was a multi-media artist, enjoying such gifts as drawing, painting, jewelry making, and glass art, but she specialized in sgraffito (sgraffito pronounced (sɡræˈfiːtəʊ) is a technique in mural or ceramic decoration in which the top layer of glaze, plaster, etc., is carved or sculpted with a design to reveal parts of the ground). Neva enjoyed watching movies, reading, working out, and having a great laugh, though animals were her passion. She was also a great cook, with a special talent for foods from her Italian roots, especially lasagna, fried garlic meatballs with spaghetti, and of course, Fettucine Alfredo. Her mid-afternoon traditional Italian Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners were legendary. Neva loved gardening and planting flower gardens. She also was an avid landscaper and made a beautiful serenity garden out of a simple front yard. She was also a certified Cosmetologist for several years, specializing in color work, co-owning a beauty shop in East Tennessee.

Neva is survived by her friend and loving companion, John Farrar, her father Bernard Fiumara, step-mother Willadeene, siblings Joey Fiumara, Mike (Summer) Morgan, and Stacy Olmino, and Thomas the Cat.  She is preceded in death by her mother Shirley Ann Titsworth, grandparents Marie and Nute Titsworth and Bernard and Fausta Fiumara, step-father Ray Buzzeo, aunts Kathy Stephens and Helen Jo Harvey, uncles Darrell Titsworth and N.C. Titsworth, her very special poodle Phoebe and her silky terrier Spike.
