Obituary of Nellie Mae Brown

Nellie Mae Brown, age 87 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022.  Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Pastor Andrew Blondo officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 8th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.   Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sumner County Presbyterian Church, C/O Theodora Winkler, 1038 Lock 4 Road, Gallatin, TN, 37066 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.

Mrs. Brown was born May 9, 1935 in Sumner County to the late Leonard James Lee and Annie Mae Gregory Lee.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Beeman Orville Brown; brother, James Oscar Lee; and sisters, Betty Ann Duke, Willie Ann Lee, and Beatrice Lee.  Mrs. Brown is survived by daughters, Linda Ragland (Darrell) of Gallatin and Brenda Carroll (Tom) of Cleveland, TN; son, Darryl Brown of Hendersonville; 6 grandchildren, Chassity Mannon (Rick), Chad Ragland (Maria), Steven Carroll (Emi), Lauren Carroll, Elizabeth Camacho (Marcus), and Tyler Brown; 8 great grandchildren, Cooper Mannon, Lexi Ragland, Bella Ragland, Sloane Mannon, Ethan Ragland, Elesha Grace Ragland, Steven Payne-Carroll, and Margaret Camacho; and several nieces and nephews.
